Our Kilts are the genuine article: hand-sewn by skilled kilt makers, using the traditional eight yards of material from the best quality Scottish tartan. The kilt can be pleated in several ways on the back. Pleat to sett (pattern) is more an individual choice whereas military or pipe bands may choose an attractive stripe for their pleating.

For the more traditional kilt, there is a buckle on each side, and a third can be added on the right side on request. The Kilt has around 28 pleats, depending on the set (pattern) of the tartan used. There is a full canvas lining, which helps holds the shape of the kilt and prevents it from stretching excessively. Most of our customers prefer to use heavy medium weight material as they find that this hangs better, although lightweight Kilts are also available.

Our ladies evening and day kilts are made in 100% wool in a wide range of lightweight and medium weight tartans, samples of which are available on request. And we mustn't forget our wee ones! We carry children's kilts in most sizes in a variety of tartans.
